Standing-room-only for CMS demo

Julie demos Joomla in use at MRCOG

Thanks to the standing-room-only crowd that came out for Thursday's CMS demo, hosted by the New Mexico Technology Council. It's the second in our series on Web Content Management. (Part 1: How to Choose a CMS That Works)

Here's a brief summary of this month's demo with links to slides and downloads. Huge thanks to all who participated.

Joomla by Julie Heinrich

The Mid-Region Council of Governments uses the Joomla content management system. Thanks to Julie Heinrich for sharing her experiences with the system as well as a peek behind the scenes.

Plone by Lesley Molecke and Alex Sielicki

Lesley from CABQ.gov logged into the Plone 2.5 system behind one of Albuquerque's largest websites and gave an honest assessment of her experiences.

Alex from FosterMilo whizzed through the speed-dating version of Plone 3, sharing features such as link integrity, translations, version history, and microformats.

ExpressionEngine by Emily Lewis

A huge fan of ExpressionEngine, Emily told us why she loves the system and shared the admin interface for a few Pitney Bowes

sites she runs.

MiniCMS by Vincent Thomé

Vincent says he's happy to provide a licensed copy of MiniCMS, the CMS he shared, to demo for personal use. If you were at the demo and are interested, contact Vincent at nmtc@vincentthome.com with your domain name and he'll provide a .ZIP file and a license code.
